National Home Furnishings Association (NHFA) Accepts Former Members of Home Furnishings Association of New England (HFANE)
HIGH POINT, NC – Since the Home Furnishings Association of New England (HFANE) is no longer active, the National Home Furnishings Association (NHFA) is accepting its former members into its NHFA New England Chapter which is headed by Joe Quintal of Rotman’s Furniture, President and Richard Tubman of Circle Furniture, Vice President. Others serving on the board are Louise Woodruff, Bob Metsch, Keith Caulfield, Gary Harrington and Ed Ahern. The NHFA New England Chapter includes the North Country, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont and lower New England, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
NHFA will provide many of the benefits and traditions that members of HFANE enjoyed and will offer the former members of HFANE who join NHFA its other benefits and services. NHFA will host the 2007 Awards Luncheon and a charity golf tournament in 2008 and will make available a printed directory and web site.
The 2007 Awards Luncheon will be held November 6, 2007, 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM at Spinelli’s Function Facility, 10 Newbury Street, Peabody, Mass. At this luncheon the Arthur Adelizzi, Representative of the Year and Retailer of the Year Awards will be presented.
The Arthur Adelizzi Award will go to an individual who has contributed in great measure to the furniture industry and who conducts his or her life and business with professional attitude, honesty, integrity and dedication to the industry. It is named for Arthur Adelizzi who passed away on October 1, 2006, and who served the industry as President and Chairman Emeritus of HFANE and President of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association (IHFRA). It was his dedication and fortitude that kept HFANE active for so many years. The Representative of the Year Award will go to a person who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, ethics, commitment and integrity and on whom retailers can depend for help in growing their businesses and in following through on service issues, making regular calls and keeping their customers informed on matters of importance. The Retailer of the Year Award is for a dealer who conducts his or her business and life with professional attitude, honesty, integrity and dedication to the industry. It is a dealer who respects the time and services of representatives and who is fair and honest in dealing with suppliers.
