El Dorado Furniture To Open Coconut Creek Showroom

COCONUT CREEK, FL — At a time when many home furnishings stores are cutting back, El Dorado Furniture is gearing up to open a brand new, mega-showroom in Coconut Creek.  The 92,000-square-foot store will be the major anchor for a 17-acre, 153,000-square-foot shopping center on the northwest corner of the Sawgrass Expressway and Lyons Road.

The new showroom will be El Dorado’s 11th location in South Florida, and will bring an estimated 75 new jobs to Coconut Creek.

Like other El Dorado stores, the Coconut Creek location will be designed like a village, with vintage storefronts bordering boulevards, park benches, and old-fashioned street lamps. Shoppers will be able to take a break at a cozy coffee shop, and live entertainment will be scheduled for many weekends.

Furnishings for every room in the house will be on display, many of them arranged in lifestyle vignettes that help shoppers visualize what pieces will look like in their own homes. Professional decorating services will be available to buyers at no cost.

An “Opportunities” section will offer quality products at lower price points than other parts of the store. “This area will allow customers to find exceptional values and terrific bargains, yet still be confident about their purchases,” Capo says.

With an eye to environmental responsibility, planners have incorporated many green design elements, including a reflective roof that will block heat from the outdoors, and a state-of-the-art air conditioning system that recycles cooled air. Landscaping will focus on native plantings that require limited water.

Family-owned and operated El Dorado Furniture has been in business in South Florida since 1967. It ranks among the top 100 furniture retailers in the U.S., and has received numerous awards.

A grand opening celebration for the Coconut Creek store is set for March.
