2010 Retailers of the Year

Nominations now open for prestigious awards

The deadline for nominations for the National Home Furnishings Association 2010 Retailer of the Year awards is September 30, 2009.  Two outstanding retail leaders will share the honors, one whose company has an annual sales volume under $10 Million, and the other with an annual sales volume of $10 Million or above.

Nominees must be stocking dealers or employed by a store selling furniture to the consumer on a day-to-day basis.  Only NHFA members in good standing are eligible.  Officers of NHFA’s Board of Directors are ineligible for nomination and remain so until 3 years after the completion of their terms. 

Candidates are evaluated on 3 criteria:

• Contributions to the industry
• Community service
• Personal business achievements & company leadership

A selection Committee evaluates each nominee based on these 3 criteria.  Members of the committee may include: NHFA Board officers; a sponsor manufacturer; an industry supplier; a past recipient of the award; a principal of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association; and a representative of the home furnishings industry press.

Any member of the home furnishings industry may nominate one or more candidates for Retailer of the Year.  NHFA solicits nominations from members of the Association, NHFA sponsoring manufacturers and suppliers, the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association and the industry trade press.  Others are also welcome to submit nominations.

Awards will be presented at a gala dinner during the Spring 2010 High Point Market.
